Our Stay @ Bonny Hills (Reflections Holidays)
REFLECTIONS HOLIDAYS - BONNY HILLS - BIRIPI LAND
Here we paid extra from a premium site, and a premium site it was! It was a tight spot to back into with a cabin in front, but we got it done and I’ve got to say, handheld UHF radios sure do stop the caravan reversing yelling match. For those not aware of where Bonny Hills is, it is just below Port Macquarie on the NSW North Coast.
Now for the ABC4 review… (A = positives, B = unique/special, C = needs improvement, 4 = rating, ✅= additional tip)
[ A ] the view. It couldn’t be anything else but THE VIEW! Perched on the clifftop above Rainbow Beach most sites have at least a decent glimpse of the water with some sites having a restricted view due to foliage, etc. However, we were lucky enough to snag site 59 which definitely was the premium concrete slab site with uninterrupted views. Our van was perfectly set up to enjoy the view. Our 270 degree awning gave us shade at the back to set ourselves up and watch the panorama in front of us while the large window at our bed performed the same role. I will also add that the sites were quite well weather protected, for a cliff top spot. Even with rain and wind, it was easily bearable, especially given our location.
[ B ] the facilities. I couldn’t be more impressed with the facilities this park provides. The amenities block had everything and was extremely clean and reasonably modern. Here we did our first load of washing while travelling and were able to pay by card ($5 a wash, $3 a dry). Even the camp kitchen has a cliff top view.
[ C ] no playground / pool. The closest I could come to the least favourite part of the park was as trivial as wanting a pool or a playground. The park itself is very small and we managed to keep our 3yo entertained by walking down to a playground at Rainbow Beach or just doing laps on our scooters but man, if this place had a pool, it would be a dream!
[ 4 ] 3 out of 4. We really enjoyed our 3 nights and could easily visit again in the future.
💰 $75 per night. Yes, an expensive site but with that cliff top view, concrete slab and power it was worth it for 3 nights early on our Big Lap.

✅ Across the road from the park is a multi-faceted shop. Nothing beats a place where you can petrol, alcohol, groceries AND is also a takeaway food shop (though we didn’t get a chance to try any of the takeaway food).
